When performing maintenance (which requires lifting the vehicle off the ground) on any of the Tesla models listed above, it is imperative that the vehicle be lifted correctly to avoid damage to the high voltage battery located under the vehicle. All of these Tesla models have four specific pick-up points. The kit fits exactly into these pick-up points, which are specifically designed for this purpose. Note from the manufacturer: Mandatory when lifting Tesla Model 3, S, X and Y. Without using these adapters, there is a risk of damaging the battery box or even the battery. The adapters are inserted into the locating hole under the vehicle and aligned over the existing rubber plate from the support arm of the lift or jack.
