The EP Superlight from ERGOTEC is a System Pedal that creates a fixed connection between the Pedal and special shoes to counteract this. The pedal body and frame are both made of aluminum, which - along with steel - is a tried and tested material for pedals. It combines weather resistance and rigidity with a comparatively low weight. To make pedaling more efficient, stable and comfortable, SHIMANO has developed the SPD system, which is also compatible with this pedal.
