It's folding!You can't get more 1970s retro than that! Folding bikes once had a market share of over 30 percent, and they never really disappeared from the streets. For some years now, folding bikes have been experiencing a revival, and there are even folding bike races. The "folding bike" from EXCELSIOR, for example, has been in the program for quite some time. Like the original models, it has the folding mechanism in the step-through of the steel frame to make it about half the size. Handlebars and saddle can be adjusted to the desired height or slide in for transport.Unlike most original folding bikes, however, EXCELSIOR's model comes in two frame sizes. In 20 and 24, which corresponds to 40cm and 48cm. Otherwise, the "folding bike" has everything that is practical, such as the luggage rack and mudguards. And everything that is required by law (according to StVZO), such as the light, brakes or reflectors. This is where the "folding bike" deviates from the 1970s originals: V-brakes did not exist back then, but they grip much better. And LED headlights or taillights with parking lights were not yet invented for bicycles, but today they shine all the brighter and more reliable.Available as a singlespeed variant or with 3-speed Shimano Nexus hub gears with coaster. Last but not least, the Pure Orange is also a nod to the originals so it can stroll stylishly through the city.
